RoboSaplings

The training wheels come off. Real code, real circuits.

Duration
14 sessions
Format
In-school & weekend batches

The step from blocks to text. Students move onto the Arduino Uno and start typing real code in the C++ family, the same language that runs washing machines, cars and satellites. They learn to read a circuit diagram, wire a breadboard without a picture to copy, and debug a build that refuses to work. It is the level where students stop following instructions and start engineering.

You will build

  • A traffic light system you program from scratch
  • A temperature and humidity monitor with a live display
  • A line-following robot that steers itself around a track
  • An autonomous robot that maps its own way out of a maze

Arduino boards, breadboards, jumper wires, sensors and motors are provided. Students who continue to RoboRoots keep the same kit across levels.

The course roadmap

7 levels, from your first spark to showcase day. Follow the trail.

  1. 1
    Level 1

    From blocks to text

Write your first lines of real code and watch an LED obey them.

  2. 2
    Level 2

    Read the circuit

Breadboards, resistors and schematics. Build from a diagram, not a photo.

  3. 3
    Level 3

    Sensors that measure

Temperature, distance and light. Turn the physical world into numbers.

  4. 4
    Level 4

    Motors and control

Drivers, PWM and speed control. Make movement precise instead of approximate.

  5. 5
    Level 5

    Follow the line

Combine sensing and steering into a robot that tracks a path on its own.

  6. 6
    Level 6

    Debug like an engineer

Nothing works the first time. Learn to find the fault instead of starting over.

  7. 7
    Level 7

    Showcase day

Run your autonomous robot in front of an audience and explain your code.

  8. Finish line

    You did it!

Show off what you built, take your projects home, and level up to the next stage.

Then what?
