How much space do we need?
A spare classroom of 150 to 200 sq ft runs a starter lab for batches of twenty. CBSE's Composite Skill Lab norm is 600 sq ft for Classes 6 to 12 (or two 400 sq ft labs). No spare room at all? Start with the trolley: it moves between classrooms and nothing about it is wasted when a room opens up.
What does a lab cost?
It depends entirely on scale: a mobile trolley and a 600 sq ft Composite Skill Lab are different projects. After the free survey you get an itemised proposal at three budget levels, so you decide what to start with and what to phase in. We never quote before we have seen the room; be wary of anyone who does.
We already have a computer lab or an old kit cupboard. Does that count?
Often, yes, and it can save you serious money. CBSE allows an existing IT lab to be leveraged for coding and AI skill subjects, and an ATL for electronics. Part of the survey is auditing what you already own against what your mandate actually requires, before you spend a rupee.
Do you support Atal Tinkering Labs?
End to end: application support, GeM-compliant procurement against the AIM equipment list, installation, and the part vendors abandon: the monthly reports, mentoring records and competition pipeline the ₹20-lakh grant requires for five years. We can also run the weekly sessions that keep utilisation reporting healthy.
Who maintains the equipment?
We do, under an annual maintenance contract: scheduled servicing, repairs, spares and consumables. Your teachers never chase a vendor, because the vendor is a drive away in Naharlagun, not a flight away in a metro.
Can we start small and expand later?
Most schools do exactly that. We design the room so Phase 1 leaves the space, power and storage for what comes next, and the kits are modular, so nothing you buy in year one becomes redundant in year three.
